Journey back to the first part of the twentieth century with author Dorrie-Lenore Parsons in her “Inherited Treasures” book series.
Four generations of strong-willed, generous, and independent young women write their own stories as they pursue their dreams of performing. Becoming Hazel, Saints & Deceivers, Hoofers & Hooch, Gangsters & Reels, and Finding Salvadora are stories of women who defied the odds and pushed the norms of society to become performers and work in the arts. Along the way, they are supported and encouraged by the men at their sides and by families who recognize their unique talents.

About Dorrie-Lenore Parsons ~

Dorrie-Lenore Parsons lives just outside of Boston with her husband and their rescue puppy.
When a box arrived filled with thousands of photographs, collections of newspaper clippings, letters, yearbooks, and six family Bibles from various people and eras, Dorrie decided to cobble it together into a series of books inspired by her family.

Inherited Treasures Book 4
Gangsters & Reels, the fourth book in the “Inherited Treasures” series, continues with Malcolm and Eileen pulling off a free wedding as part of a wrap-up party of a movie shoot – with their family cast as extras – courtesy of Eileen’s mother and manager, Edythe. Then the intoxicated stars of the movie convinced Malcolm’s Aunt Mildred to lend them her limousine for an evening of fun afterwards. Her first instinct was to decline, but she didn’t want them to spoil the reception.
They did far more than that as it turned out.

What a Girl Should NOT Do
(1924 Edition) Admonitions from one hundred years ago… It seems every generation worries that their children are in harm’s way, and we need to protect them.
